CD Graphics was founded by Christopher Deutsch in the Summer of 1995. His reason for starting the organization was to further his study in the realm of computer generated art. The formation of CD Graphics was the result of insufficient technological resources available to him at Vassar College. (It is our hope that Vassar will realize the importance of having these resources available to its students in the near future.) By starting the organization while attending college, Christopher has been able to learn the industry by "doing." CDG has been a tremendous learning tool for Christopher and it has helped him to accomplish even more than he had envisioned it would. When asked why Christopher took on the responsibility of starting a company while in college he said, "I am in school to learn, and this is the best way that I can learn about the computer graphics industry...by learning hands on." Christopher was introduced to the world of computer graphics by his cousin Dan Kennedy. After Dan introduced him to this new world of creativity, Christopher told him, "Computer graphics is the brave new world, and I intend to embrace it in any and every way that I can." Dan founded his own company, Kennedy Systems which specializes in contact management software. He has since sold the company and is in the process of starting an Internet consulting firm in Arizona called WebLogix. Christopher has developed a new company called MacroLogix, and as the name suggests, the two companies have created an aliance. Now in Christopher's third year as president of the organization, CD Graphics has become a vehicle in which many others have benefited as well. CD Graphics has been involved with many groups at Vassar College as well as many internationally known organizations. CDG's Involvement with Vassar related groups include: The Vassar Spectator, the Admissions department, the Economics department, the Vassar men's lacrosse team, the Chicago Vassar Club, and Town House C-9. The nationally and internationally known organizations that CDG has worked with include: Link Relay Communications, Loft Development Corporation, Anderson Gardens, Transcendent Recordings, Cross The Marne Books, and Black Dog Design. Christopher hopes to continue establishing ties with other new and equally innovative groups in the creative realm. Christopher graduated from Vassar College in the Spring of 1997 and majored in Economics. He says jokingly, "Computer graphics is basically my second, unaccredited major considering the amount of time and effort I put into it. It is something I really love to do, so I don't mind putting in 40+ hours a week on the organization alone." Christopher was also captain of the men's lacrosse team, and an all-league select side player for the men's rugby team at Vassar. His other hobbies include: snowboarding, sailing, listening to music of all kinds, and relaxing with his friends. Christopher is originally from Chicago and he is glad to be back in his home town. When asked where he thinks he will be ten years from now he replied, "I'm not so sure yet...but wherever it is it's a safe bet that there'll be tons of computers and Milano cookies all around me, and of course I'll be wearing a huge smile ;-) as a result."
